The Dickinson Police Department was established in 1983. The city is centrally located in Galveston county on IH-45 between Houston and Galveston and boasts the scenic Dickinson Bayou. See a map of the city for more details.
Large majestic pine trees surround this quaint community which was once known for it's large agricultural trade back in the late 1800s and even more well known for its wide open gambling houses back in the 1930s.
Department Structure
The department is divided into 3 main divisions:

Administration
The Administration Division includes:
- Budget
- Emergency Communication Services
- Records Management
Patrol
The Patrol Division (Uniform Services Division) consists of 2 separate sections, Patrol and the Patrol Support Services section. The Support Service section includes community outreach officers, jail personnel and warrant officers.
Criminal Investigation Division (CID)
This is a specialized unit within the Dickinson Police Department that deals with major criminal investigations including narcotics investigations and forensics.
