The Community Development Department is made up of the Building Permits & Inspections, Planning & Zoning, and Code Enforcement divisions who guide the development process from start to finish. The health and safety of Dickinson residents and ensuring the city's unique character is protected are priority. The department works with policymakers, property owners, developers, and citizens to promote responsible growth, introduce quality new developments and enhance existing ones. Community Development also leads economic growth and development policies through annexation, updates to the future land use map, zoning map and code revisions, and streamlining the one-stop-shop process for development applications.
All permits and applications are now submitted online through MyGov.
